Abstract: A data storage device, such as a disk drive unit, includes at least one disk for storing data therein. The disk is divided into a plurality of tracks. The disk has at least a first set of tracks that each have stored therein at least one repeatable runout correction code for at least one area of the track, and a second set of tracks that each do not have stored therein any repeatable runout correction codes.
