Abstract: Systems and methods for capturing machine-readable symbols using a finger mounted indicia. The system includes an image sensor that captures a plurality of images from the field of view of the image sensor. An occurrence of a gesture is detected in the plurality of images, in which the gesture is represented by a trace of a number of movements of a finger mounted indicia. In response to detecting the occurrence of the gesture, an at least attempt is triggered to decode one or more machine-readable symbols represented in the images. The gesture may be used to indicate a region of interest that includes the machine-readable symbol. Such indication may improve the efficiency and processing time needed to detect and decode a machine-readable symbol.

Abstract: A mobile device and methods that support performing a warm swap of a battery of a mobile device are provided herein. A processor of the mobile device may initiate a warm swap procedure in response to receiving a request from a user operating the mobile device. The processor generate a first notification signal to indicate to the user to wait before removing the battery from the mobile device. In response to execution of the warm swap procedure, the processor generates a second notification signal to indicate to the user that the battery of the mobile device is safe to be warm swapped with a charged battery.

Abstract: A flexible cable may include an electrical conductor, a dielectric insulator layer surrounding the electrical conductor, a jacket layer being flexible and surrounding the dielectric insulator layer, a shield surrounding the dielectric insulator layer and a connector electrically connected to the electrical conductor. The connector may be configured to connect to an electronic device and communicate electrical signals from the electrical conductor to the electronic device. The cable may further include a capacitive layer engaging the jacket layer. At least one capacitive pad may be disposed on the capacitive layer and be configured to communicate signals (e.g., capacitance variance) over a communications path in response to a user touching the capacitive pad(s) by his or her fingers.
