Abstract:
The specification discloses an improved floor mat mounting system which consists of a retaining means molded out of plastic or other similar materials which, in one of its embodiments, has one smooth surface adapted to be glued or otherwise fastened to the underside of a motor vehicle carpet floor mat to prevent movement upon the entry and exit of occupants of a motor vehicle. In another modification, there is disclosed a retainer having bristles extending from both sides thereof, which is adapted to be used by itself, and be placed at various locations on the car carpet with the standard motor vehicle floor mat placed thereover to engage the bristles on one side of the retainer, with the bristles on the other side of the retainer engaging the motor vehicle carpet, thereby preventing movement of the carpet floor mat by persons entering and exiting the vehicle.Regardless of which modification is used, the frictional engagement between the bristles on the bottom of the retainer and the motor vehicle carpet prevent movement of the carpet floor mat of the motor vehicle.
Abstract:
There is disclosed an improved floor mat construction, including a floor mat having at least one carpeted surface to which is attached, via suitable attaching means, a retainer to prevent movement of the floor mat relative to a vehicle carpet. The retainer generally has an upper bristled surface and a lower bristled surface divided by a planar surface. One or both of said upper bristled surface and said lower bristled surface may be tapered for all or part of its length.
Abstract:
The specification discloses a self-contained headlamp washer system which consists of an electrical pump assembly, flexible washer fluid container, headlamp washer assembly, and a tubular hosing connecting means. Two (2) embodiments of the invention are disclosed by applicant, i.e.: a self-contained headlamp washer system in which the headlamp washer nozzle assembly is contained within and by the headlamp bezel, and a headlamp washer nozzle assembly which is of a two-piece construction independent of the headlamp bezel, said washer nozzle assembly is capable of being either attached or clipped on to any existing headlamp bezel. In both disclosed embodiments, applicant prefers that the headlamp washer nozzle assembly be made from a molded plastic material of high strength and impact resistant characteristics. The headlamp washer nozzle assembly is specifically designed so that no part thereof protrudes on, or covers any portion of the vehicle headlamp, and has a specially constructed long fluid passageway and washer fluid discharge apertures which allow the placement of the washer fluid over the entire surface of the vehicle headlamps in a controlled and more effective cleaning pattern.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a method of attaching retainers to automotive floor mats, as well as an embodiment of a floor mat utilizing said method. The typical floor mat utilizing this method will have a retainer with a series of male or female fasteners provided on the retainer, and the floor mat will have openings corresponding to these fasteners, through which the other fastener, whether it be male or female, can be passed to firmly attach the floor mat to the retainer. The retainer may be one sided or two sided, their may, or may not be holes in the floor mat, depending on the particular fasteners being used, the openings in the floor mat, if provided, may, or may not, be reinforced, and a heel pad can optionally be attached at the same time.
Abstract:
The present invention is for a flat B containing amorphous powder based in Fe, Ni, Co or a combination thereof; a coating resulting from deposition of the powder; and a method for depositing the powder. The composition of the powder and the resulting coating consists essentially of the formulation: (Fe,Ni,Co).sub.bal Cr.sub.0-20 (Mn,Mo,W).sub.0-35 (B,Si,C).sub.5-25 (Al,Ti).sub.0-10 where the subscripts are in atomic percent and with the proviso that 4.ltoreq.B.ltoreq.15, and that the balance will exceed 50%.
Abstract:
The specification discloses a non-skid carpet protector which has numerous stiff bristles placed on the underside thereof to prevent movement upon the entry and existing of occupants of a motor vehicle. Two modifications of the invention are disclosed by Applicant, i.e. a non-skid carpet protector which covers only a limited area of the horizontal part of the motor vehicle passenger compartment floor, near the vehicle's brake and accelerator, and a non-skid carpet protector which covers a substantial portion of both the horizontal and vertically inclined portion of the floor of the motor vehicle passenger compartment. The non-skid carpet protector is specifically designed so that it may be easily secured to the floor carpet within a motor vehicle, by the application of a vertical pressure on top of said non-skid carpet protector, thus causing the stiff bristles to effectively engage in a frictional relationship the underlying carpet to be protected.
Abstract:
The specification discloses a two-sided carpet construction and a method for the continuous manufacture thereof. The carpet manufacturing process begins by tufting a carpet yarn into a scrim layer. The process continues up to the point where the bonding material is applied to the carpet scrim to lock the tufts of the carpet fiber in place. In the process disclosed herein, immediately after the bonding material is applied, a piece of carpet material, by which may be similar to the piece just described, or which may be different in color or construction from that just described, is continuously applied in 180.degree. opposed relationship on the top of the bonding material just applied. The carpet construction thus formed is then passed through pressure applying means to firmly force the bonding material into the carpet tufts and carpet scrim to form a continuous piece of two-sided carpet material having approximately half the weight of bonding materials of previous constructions.
Abstract:
A system and method for specifying a computer program. The specified computer program comprises a set of selected program objects, represented by a corresponding set of outline items arranged in a multilevel outline format. These outline items collectively and completely denote the nature and operation of the specified computer program. Each outline item has a set of predefined characteristics, including a set of required children, and a set of optional children, comprising outline items that must/may be included at the next lower outline level when this outline item is used in a computer program. For each outline item in a computer program an expansion denoting flag denotes whether the corresponding outline item has children and whether the display of those children has been enabled. A selected contiguous portion of the multilevel outline is shown on the computer system's display device, showing only outline items whose display is enabled by corresponding expansion display denoting flags. A user interface enables the user to enable and disable expansion of any specified outline items. In response to such changes, the display definition is expanded and collapsed in accordance with the changed expansion display denoting flags. The user interface also enables the user to define menus and other display oriented objects by providing an interactive drawing program for designing a visual display and automatically adding the corresponding outline items to a selected computer program.

Abstract:
The specification discloses an improved automotive type carpet construction and method for manufacture thereof. The construction disclosed is particularly useful for lining the trunk of an automobile, the bed of an automotive type station wagon, or on the floor of a van type vehicle, where it is desired to have a construction which is light in weight, waterproof, easy to clean up, and yet can be made in a color to match the interior carpeting of the automobile. The construction disclosed has a primary layer of a ribbon fiber woven in a plain weave, with a continuous filament yarn inserted with a needled motion, and a bonding layer applied to the back thereof in a continuous hot melt flow. A non-skid layer may also be applied, if desired. The carpet construction is then die cut into one or more pieces with the piece(s) being sewn together or a binding being applied thereto.
