    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulating housing, a plurality of conductive terminals received in the insulating housing, a detecting contact and a metallic shell shielding around the insulating housing. The insulating housing has a base portion and a mating tongue extending forwardly from the base portion. The metallic shell surrounds the meting tongue to form a receiving cavity opening forwardly. The conductive terminals have contacting sections exposed in the receiving cavity. The metallic shell has a resilient contacting portion contacting or disconnecting with the detecting contact so as to obtain detecting function.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing enclosing a plurality of terminals and enclosed within a metallic shell. The shell forms a receiving cavity in which said housing is retained. The shell includes opposite top and bottom plates with a plurality of spring tangs split therefrom and extending into the receiving cavity. A top extension unitarily extends rearwardly from a front edge of the top plate and includes a front stationary base section intimately positioned upon the top plate, and a rear deflectable section including a plurality of spring fingers rearwardly extending from a rear end of the front base section in an oblique manner away from the top plate. The front base section forms a plurality of openings corresponding to free ends of the spring tangs for accommodating the corresponding free ends, respectively.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes a terminal module and a shielding shell surrounding the terminal module. The terminal module has an insulative housing and a plurality of conductive terminals retained in the insulative housing. The shielding shell has a metallic shell and a waterproof shell insert molded on an outer side of the metallic shell. The metallic shell surrounds the insulative housing to form a mating cavity opening forwardly. The shielding shell has a sealing member disposed between the metallic shell and the waterproof shell and a retaining member disposed at a rear side of the waterproof shell. The retaining member is separate from the sealing member. The metallic shell defines an opening slot going therethrough. The sealing member covers the opening slot. The retaining member defines a mounting leg.

    Abstract: An electrical connector comprises an insulative housing extending in a horizontal direction and a plurality of conductive terminals retained in the insulative housing. The electrical connector is provided with a first receiving cavity and a second receiving cavity which are arranged in an up-and-down arrangement in a vertical direction perpendicular to the horizontal direction. Each conductive terminals comprises a first contact portion extending upwardly into the first receiving cavity and a second contact portion extending downwardly into the second receiving cavity. The conductive terminals are used to electrically connect a pair of first and second electrical components which are respectively inserted into the first and second receiving cavity via the first and second contact portions. The electrical connector is provided with the receiving cavity for inserting the second electrical component, thereby facilitating the assembly of the second electrical component and the electrical connector.
