    Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative elongated housing with two opposite end towers in the longitudinal direction, two rows of contacts disposed in the housing and opposite to each other in the transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and a pair of ejectors rotatably retained to the corresponding end towers, respectively. Each end tower unitarily forms a U-shaped structure for receiving a side edge region of the daughter card. A metallic U-shaped reinforcing piece is assembled upon each U-shaped structure in a compliance manner to directly confront the corresponding side edge of the daughter card in the longitudinal direction while being unexposed from the side edge region of the daughter card in the transverse direction.

    Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative elongated housing defining an elongated slot extending along a longitudinal direction. Two rows of contacts are disposed in the housing so as to be paired in each cross-sectional plane in a transverse direction. A pair of towers are located at two opposite ends of the housing in the longitudinal direction. A pair of ejectors/lockers are disposed in the corresponding towers and rotational about a pivot extending along the transverse direction. Each ejector has a bottom kicker adapted to intimately confront a bottom edge of the memory module for ejecting the memory module out of the housing. The kicker slightly interferes with the contacting sections of the neighboring contacts when the ejector is located at an outer position so as to be retained in position with regard to the housing.

    Abstract: A securing mechanism for retaining a daughter board upon the primary board includes a base, which is moveably assembled upon the main board, and a latch assembled upon the base and moveable between a locking position and an unlocking position. The base forms a support platform upwardly abutting against the underside of the daughter board and equipped with an arc protrusion for receipt within a notch of the daughter board, and a grounding piece with one end mechanically and electrically connecting a grounding pad of the daughter board and the other end mechanically and electrically connecting a grounding pad on the main board. The base forms a horizontal slot to receive the main body so as to retain the base to the main body in position in the vertical direction. The latch forms a pressing face downwardly pressing an upper side of the daughter board.

    Abstract: A card edge connector includes a longitudinal insulating housing including two long walls and a bottom wall connecting with the long wall and defining a card slot in a longitudinal direction among the long walls and the bottom wall, two rows of contact arranged in the long walls respectively. Each contact includes a retaining portion, a spring portion extending from the retaining portion and leg portion extending from the retaining portion and out of the insulating housing. The spring portions define contacting portions projecting into the card slot. Each contact is formed by directly punching out from a metal plate, the retaining portions define an outer edge and inner edge interfered with the insulating housing and two opposite plane faces connecting with the outer and inner edge and disposed perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.
