    Abstract: A card edge connector for receiving a memory card includes an insulative housing with a central slot for receiving the memory card and a plurality of terminal contacts retained in a plurality of grooves defined by the insulative housing and a retainer positioned on the housing. The retainer defines a body portion mounted on the housing, a locking portion extending into the housing from the body portion and a elastic engaging portion extending downwardly into the central slot from inner side of the body portion for steadily locking the memory card.

    Abstract: A card edge connector includes a housing defining a card slot, a terminal module and a grounding member. The terminal module includes two rows of terminals and an insulating base with a first surface, a second surface and end surfaces between and connecting with the first and second surfaces. Each row of terminals includes a plurality of signal terminals and a plurality of grounding terminals. The terminals includes contacting sections extending out the first surface of the insulating base and into the card slot, leg sections extending out the second surface of the insulating base, and connecting sections. The grounding member fitly surrounds the end surfaces of the insulating base and includes a group of first contacting arms and a group of second contacting arms, each grounding terminal is contacted with one first contacting arm and one second contacting arm.

    Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative elongated housing defining an elongated slot extending along a longitudinal direction. Two rows of contacts are disposed in the housing so as to be paired in each cross-sectional plane in a transverse direction. A pair of towers are located at two opposite ends of the housing in the longitudinal direction. A pair of ejectors/lockers are disposed in the corresponding towers and rotational about a pivot extending along the transverse direction. Each ejector has a bottom kicker adapted to intimately confront a bottom edge of the memory module for ejecting the memory module out of the housing. The kicker slightly interferes with the contacting sections of the neighboring contacts when the ejector is located at an outer position so as to be retained in position with regard to the housing.

    Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative elongated housing, a plurality of contacts disposed in the housing, and a pair of rotatable ejectors at two ends of the housing. The housing includes a pair of side walls extending along the longitudinal direction with a receiving slot therebetween in a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and a pair of towers at two opposite ends of the housing in the longitudinal direction. The receiving slot is configured to receive a card type memory module. The pair of ejectors are disposed in the corresponding towers, respectively. Each ejector includes a kicker at the bottom wherein a tip of the kicker will not invade into the space between the pair of outermost contacts so as not interfere with the corresponding outermost contacts when the ejector is rotated to be at an open/ejecting position.

The insulative housing has two side walls and a number of tower-shaped portions protruding upwardly from the side walls. The insulative housing has a central slot between two side walls. The tower-shaped portion has a mounting slot. The tower-shaped portion defines a holding recess communicated to the mounting slot. The ejector has a main portion and a number of holding portions protruding from two opposite sides of the main portion. The holding portion has a first portion and a second portion extending from the first portion. The first portion is closer to the central slot than the second portion. The first portion has a front edge with a sleek section.
