Abstract: A plasma display panel of long life, more than several thousand hours, having a plurality of electrode pairs covered with dielectric layers facing to discharge gas space, and surface reinforcing film on one or both surface of the dielectric layers facing to discharge gas space. The surface reinforcing film is made from insulating materials, the chief component of which is an oxide of a rare-earth element.
