Abstract: A coin feeding device (for example, feeding unit 20) includes: a disk 22 having a plurality of protrusions 22b at a surface, the disk 22 disposed so as to be rotatable in a tilted state and configured to catch coins by the protrusions 22b to move the coins upward while rotating; a cover 21 configured to form a space for storing a coin between the cover 21 and the surface of the disk 22; a guide 26 configured to guide a peripheral edge of a coin such that a part of the coin having been caught by each protrusion 22b and moved upward protrudes from the disk 22; and a taking-out unit (for example, taking-out mechanism 28) configured to grip only one coin protruding from the disk 22, remove the coin from the disk 22, and discharge the coin to outside of the disk 22.

Abstract: The present invention provides a coin recognition unit having high recognition capacity. The coin recognition unit comprises magnetic sensors each configured to collect magnetic characteristics of a transported coin; at least one optical sensor disposed with a space from the magnetic sensors and configured to collect optical characteristics of a surface of the coin; a glass plate constituting a transport surface on which the coin is transported and having a larger size than the coin; and a controller configured to control the magnetic sensors and the at least one optical sensor and perform a recognition process, the glass plate covering at least part of each magnetic sensor and at least part of each optical sensor.

Abstract: A magnetism detection device capable of improving the ability to detect magnetic features of coins and reducing a change in outputs due to a change in transport positions of coins, a coin recognition device, and a method for detecting magnetism using the magnetism detection device. The magnetism detection device includes a transport path on which a coin is to be transported, detection coils arranged on at least one side of a transport surface of the transport path and along a direction crossing a transport direction of the coin, and a controller configured to detect a magnetic feature of the coin based on an output signal from at least one but not all of the detection coils.
