    Abstract: An end-effector assembly includes a master boom, a frame rail coupled to the master boom, at least one branch rail movably coupled to the frame rail by a branch lock, and a swing arm movably coupled to the at least one branch rail by a swing lock. The swing lock includes a clamp configured to movably secure the swing arm to the branch rail. A pivot shaft extends through the clamp and the swing arm and is configured to rotationally secure the swing arm to the clamp. A swing plate is secured to the pivot shaft and is configured for engagement with a configuration tool. Further, a locking fastener extends through the swing plate and into the pivot shaft. The locking fastener is configured to lock and unlock the swing lock in position along the branch rail.

    Abstract: An end-effector assembly includes a master boom, a frame rail coupled thereto, and at least one branch rail movably coupled to the frame rail by a swing branch lock. The swing arm is movably coupled to the at least one branch rail by a swing arm lock. Each of the swing branch lock and the swing arm lock further includes a clamp configured to movably secure the branch rail to the frame rail or the swing arm to the branch rail. A pivot shaft extends through the clamp and is configured to rotationally secure the clamp in place. A swing plate is secured to the pivot shaft and is configured for engagement with a configuration tool. A locking fastener extends through the swing plate and into the pivot shaft and is configured to lock and unlock the clamp in position.

    Abstract: A multi-stage tooling pin clamp capable of holding weld nuts of different sizes includes a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a plurality of longitudinal stages extending between the proximal and distal ends. A plunging pin within the housing and includes a plurality of tapered surfaces configured to radially displace at least one locking ball ring assembly disposed in at least one of the plurality of longitudinal stages of the housing. An actuating mechanism is in communication with the plunging pin configured to move the plunging pin toward the distal end of the housing to displace the at least one locking ball ring assembly radially outward to hold the weld nut, and a restoring mechanism in communication with the plunging pin configured to move the plunging pin toward the proximal end of the housing to release the hold on the weld nut.

    Abstract: A collaborative dual robot hinge mounting system includes: a first robot including an end effector that moves a pair of bolts in position to be run through a pair of hinges and into a BIW, where the end effector includes a first bolt runner and a second bolt runner; and first and second cameras that detect locations or orientations of hinge mounting holes on the BIW for the pair of hinges. A control module sends to a second robot the locations or orientations of the hinge mounting holes to signal the second robot to position the pair of hinges relative to the BIW and, in response to detecting the pair of hinges being placed relative to the BIW, drives the pair of bolts via the first bolt runner and the second bolt runner through the pair of hinges and into the hinge mounting holes in the BIW.
