Abstract:
This invention claims hot melt adhesive compositions that can be used to form elastic composites that are useful in disposable absorbent articles. The compositions have good elastic recovery and high peel adhesion at a viscosity of less than about 15,000 cps at 177° C. (350° F.). The low viscosity makes it possible to apply the hot melt adhesive at a high line speed and target application to only those areas requiring elastic performance.
Abstract:
This invention claims low application temperature hot melt adhesive compositions including at least about 15% by weight of a first styrene block copolymer with a melt flow rate of at least about 15 g/10 minutes (190° C., 2.16 kgs) and a diblock content of no greater than about 10% by weight.
Abstract:
This invention claims a disposable article including at least two bonded regions, one of the regions has elastic properties; the other region is different from the first.

Abstract:
The invention includes a hot melt adhesive composition including a single-site catalyzed propylene-based polymer that has a co-monomer content of from 0% by weight to 20% by weight and a Brookfield Viscosity at 190° C. of no greater than 25,000; and a non-hydrogenated C5 tackifying agent having a softening point of from 98° C. to around 130° C. The adhesive composition has been found to give a good balance of static peel strength and dynamic peel strength when used as a construction adhesive in a disposable absorbent article.
Abstract:
A composition, an article and a method for the bonding of non-woven substrates is disclosed. The composition includes solid particles comprising one or more polymers which are emulsified, dispersed and or suspended in a fluid carrier. The composition forms a molten blend when energy activated at temperatures in excess of 60° C. (140° F.).
Abstract:
The invention features a moisture sensitive hot melt composition in individual forms, the individual forms including a core of moisture sensitive hot melt composition, and an outer shell comprising a thermoplastic polymer, wherein the individual forms include a sealed zone of the outer shell material, extending outward from the body of the individual forms, on at least two opposing sides of the individual forms.
Abstract:
The invention features a disposable absorbent article including a thermoplastic composition applied in a full coat layer (i.e. a layer with 100% coverage) as a discrete shape to either the top sheet or to a component of the absorbent core (i.e. core or core wrap). The discrete shape is strategically located to decrease the likelihood of leaks in the desired location. The thermoplastic composition serves as a leak barrier to prevent bodily fluids and solids (i.e. urine, stool, menstrual flow, wound seepage) from leaking from the absorbent core.
