Abstract: A device with transmitter broadcasts packets including a transmitter identifier via a radio interface with varying timings of transmissions. It determines a current timing of transmissions based on clock signals and a secret code, using a cryptographic function. A mobile device detects radio signals conveying such packets and performs measurements on the signals. It determines a currently used timing of transmissions, assembles a positioning request including the transmitter identifier, results of the measurements and an indication of the timing of transmissions, and transmits the request. A server receives the request. It generates for the transmitter an expected timing of transmissions using a cryptographic function, based on a signal of a master clock and based on a stored secret code assigned to the transmitter. It provides position information as trusted position information only in the case of a match between the indicated and the expected timing of transmissions.

Abstract: Processors obtain instances of service event data and generate a plurality of territory sets. The processors determine a plurality of respective servicing values based at least in part on the instances of service event data. A respective servicing value is determined for each territory set of the plurality of territory sets. A respective servicing value for a respective territory set is determined based at least in part on at least one path that links the respective service locations located within a particular territory of the territory set on a particular service date. Based on the plurality of respective servicing values, a preferred territory set is identified from the plurality of territory sets. Responsive to determining that the preferred territory set satisfies one or more provision criteria, the processors cause information corresponding to the preferred territory set to be provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a public transportation score are provided. For example, a method of determining a public transportation score includes receiving a public transportation metric associated with a first location within a public transportation network. The method also includes determining one or more elements of the public transportation network capable of affecting the public transportation metric. The method also includes determining a status of the one or more elements of the public transportation network. The method also includes based on the status of the one or more elements, determining a score corresponding to the public transportation metric.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for quantifying public transport coverage. In this regard, for a traveler journey beginning at a starting location, transit time data is determined. The transit time data is indicative of a predicted amount of time to travel between the starting location and a departure location associated with a public transport boarding location for a public transport. Furthermore, waiting time data is determined. The waiting time is indicative of a predicted amount of time to wait at the departure location prior to departure via the public transport. Additionally, time to departure data is computed based on a combination of the transit time data and the waiting time data. For the traveler journey, a time to departure probability prediction is also determined.

Abstract: An approach is provided for argumentative navigation routing. The approach involves, for example, determining a recommended route and an alternative route. The approach also involves iteratively presenting one or more justification messages in support of the recommended route until a response is detected from a user that either rejects or accepts the one or more justification messages. The one or more justification messages are selected from among a plurality of argumentative reason classes. The approach further involves determining an accepted argumentative reason class from among the plurality of argumentative reason classes that corresponds to an accepted justification message of the one or more justification messages. The approach further involves prioritizing the accepted argumentative reason class to generate one or more subsequent justification messages in a subsequent argumentative routing interaction.

Abstract: Methods described herein relate to identifying a context of a client, and more particularly, to identifying a context of a client while maintaining data privacy and anonymity. Methods may include: providing a machine learning model to a client; receiving a state vector from the client; determining, based on using the state vector as input to the machine learning model, a representative location of the client; and providing, to the client, location-related services or information based on the representative location of the client. The representative location of the client may include a context vector. The context vector may include an indication of a count of points-of-interest for a respective category of a plurality of categories of points-of-interest. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
