Abstract: The present invention relates to the technical field of lithium metal batteries, and relates to a lithium metal battery electrolyte containing an aromatic compound as a diluent. The electrolyte contains a lithium salt, a solvent for dissolving the lithium salt, and a diluent; the diluent is an aromatic compound, and the diluent is used for inhibiting lithium dendrites generated due to uneven deposition of a lithium metal anode in the lithium metal battery during a cycle process, and is used for inhibiting the lithium metal anode in the lithium metal battery from reacting with the electrolyte.
