    Abstract: A motion detection system having detection circuitry, motion recognition circuitry, and communication circuitry is provided. The detection circuitry is configured to detect gestures or motions of a welding system operator. In some embodiments, the detection circuitry is configured to detect gestures or motions of a welding operator via an accessory device, where the accessory device is in wireless communication with the motion detection system. The motion recognition circuitry receives the detected gestures or motions, and translates the detected gestures or motions into a welding command. The welding command is communicated to a welding system via the communications circuitry, and is configured to adjust an operating parameter of the welding system.

    Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods for increasing the lifespan of welding cable covers are described. In some examples, a cable cover is wrapped around a welding cable to protect the welding cable from hazards of the welding environment. Complementary fasteners attached to the cable cover are fastened together to hold the cable cover in place around the welding cable. The fasteners are arranged and the cable cover is wrapped such that a protective region of the cable cover overlaps with the fasteners, shielding vulnerable stitching used to attach the fasteners to the cable cover. This added protection may prolong the time that fasteners remain attached to a cable cover, thereby prolonging the usable life of the cable cover, and/or prolonging the life of the welding cable(s) protected by the cable cover.

    Abstract: Disclosed example power supplies, user interfaces, and methods are provided for intuitive or automatic control of welding parameter output ranges. The disclosed systems and methods provide tools for setup of configurable and/or default settings for a welding power source and/or wire feeder. Weld settings include upper and lower limits for an operating range corresponding to one or more welding parameters, such that a welding parameter value is bound by the upper and lower limits during a welding operation. In some examples, the operating range, and the corresponding upper and lower limits, are calculated or determined based on a selected range tolerance.

    Abstract: Disclosed are welding systems and methods for conducting a completed circuit testing process. The welding system includes a power source to deliver power via one or more power outlets. Control circuitry receives an input to initiate a welding process and to command the power source to deliver a power signal with a current below a threshold level. The control circuitry monitors characteristics of the power signal at the one or more power outlets and determines whether a completed circuit condition exists. The control circuitry performs this determination based on information obtained through monitoring the characteristics of the power signal. The control circuitry controls the power source to prevent delivery of power if a completed circuit condition exists.
