Abstract:
A device for carrying out at least one of measurements and interventions in a drilled well, with the device including a rod and an instrument for at least one of measuring and intervention disposed at a lower end of the rod. The rod is flexurally elastic and compressively rigid and includes at least one line for carrying energy or information with such line being, for example, an electric, fluid or optical line. The rod is constructed so as to be wound onto at least one winch and is fashioned of one of a composite or polymer non-composite material.
Abstract:
A process and device for recovering polymetal compounds discharge from a submarine hydrothermal source comprises the use of a device comprising a bell-shaped collector member provided with a flexible skirt and placed just above the hydrothermal source to cover it substantially tightly. Means are connected to said collector for withdrawing hydrothermal fluid from the source and means are provided for concentrating the polymetal compounds thereof by settling or by centrifugation with a pipe for raising the so-concentrated flow to a surface installation associated with a bottom turbine energized by power derived from the hydrothermal fluid energy.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for measuring the light intensity of an object or object portion. The device comprises a dioptric central portion and a catadioptric peripheral portion that are independent from each other and that are suitable for delivering, from the light diffused by the object, two non-intersecting beams of the same kind, and a two-dimensional video sensor associated with an imaging device in order to obtain an image of the beams.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a rigid or flexible conduit usable particularly for transporting fluids and enabling to limit the permeability to transported fluids. According to the invention, the conduit comprises at least an inner flexible sheath (1) made of thermoplastic, elastic, or rubber material and an outer sheath (10) comprising a metal layer (3) and arranged around said inner sheath (1). Said metal layer comprises at least a layer of flat metal band (3) which is spirally wound with a winding angle .alpha. higher than 50.degree. and lower than 90.degree. with respect to the axes of the conduit. For rigid conduits, said metal layer (3) is adhered to said inner flexible sheath (1) on the major part of the width of the band (3). For flexible conduits, the turns present superposition areas so as to provide for a complete covering of said inner sheath (1), the superposition areas (30) of the band turns on one hand and the areas comprised between said superposition areas on the other hand, having each a width at least equal to amplitude of the deformation imposed to the outer sheath by the maximum bending or traction of the conduit. Application particularly to the transportion of corrosive fluids under pressure, to the oil industry at the drilling site or the production.

Abstract:
The system comprises a flexible line provided with means for collecting products scattered at the water bottom by circulating the flexible line in contact with these products. On the rising portion of the path followed by the flexible line, the collecting means are passed through a tubular casing for simultaneously protecting the surrounding water against pollution from products released, while hoisting the products to the surface.
Abstract:
This method of displaying a digital image includes a step of obtaining a radiometric spectrum for each pixel of the image and over the entire visible light spectrum. For each of the pixels, and for at least four primary colors, the method comprises the steps of: calculating a luminance level directly from the radiometric spectrum, without carrying out an intermediate step of representing the image on the basis of three primary colors; deducing therefrom the value of a driver signal; and applying the driver signal associated with the primary color to a display device adapted to reproduce each of the primary colors.
