Abstract: A display device which is an electro-optical device includes a panel including a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer and having a display region, a transparent region provided inside the display region, and a frame region provided between the transparent region and the display region. A backlight unit is provided below the panel so as not to overlap with the transparent region. A bezel is provided below the backlight unit so as not to overlap with the transparent region. A cover member is provided above the second substrate so as to overlap with the transparent region. Also, a cap film made of a material different from that of the bezel covers at least a lateral side of the backlight unit in the frame region.

Abstract: The following structure mitigates problems caused by heat generated by the LED and the driver IC. A liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal display panel in which liquid crystal is sandwiched between a TFT substrate, having a pixel, and a counter substrate including: a display area being formed in an area in which the TFT substrate and the counter substrate overlap each other, a terminal area being formed on the TFT substrate, in which the counter substrate does not overlap, the terminal area being formed along a first side of the counter substrate which extends in a first direction, a second cover glass being disposed on the counter substrate, and a first cover glass being disposed under the TFT substrate, in which a width of the first cover glass in the first direction is larger than a width of the second cover glass in the first direction.

Abstract: A liquid-crystal display device includes a display panel, a translucent cover substrate, and a plate spacer. The display panel includes a pixel substrate, a counter substrate facing the pixel substrate, a liquid-crystal layer interposed between the pixel substrate and the counter substrate, and a driver IC mounted on a protruding portion of the pixel substrate protruding from the counter substrate. The translucent cover substrate is bonded to the display panel. The plate spacer is formed in a rectangular plate shape and is fixed to a surface of the translucent cover substrate on the driver IC side. The plate spacer and the driver IC are fixed with a resin layer interposed therebetween.
