Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate including a first signal line and a second signal line adjacent to each other along a first direction, an organic insulating film located on the first signal line and the second signal line, and a first spacer located on the organic insulating film and a second substrate opposing the first substrate and including a second spacer opposing the first spacer. The organic insulating film has a through-hole between the first signal line and the second signal line in plan view. The first spacer is provided to overlap the through-hole in plan view and filling the through-hole.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes first and second substrates, liquid crystal layer, and first and second spacer sections. The first substrate has a first surface including a light-shielding region in a lattice form and a plurality of opening regions surrounded by the light-shielding region. The light-shielding region includes a plurality of first extended portions extending in a first direction and a plurality of second extended portions extending in a second direction that intersects the first direction. The first substrate has a plurality of transistors formed thereon. The second substrate has a second surface that is opposed to and spaced from the first surface. The liquid crystal layer is arranged between the first and second surfaces. The first spacer section has long sides oriented in the second direction, and the second spacer section has long sides oriented in the first direction. The spacer sections protrude into the liquid crystal layer.

Abstract: To prevent or inhibit, a spacer section from coming close to the array substrate inside each of pixels, a liquid crystal display includes an auxiliary wiring provided to project toward the side of the opposite substrate from a surface of the array substrate, and the spacer section provided to project toward the side of the array substrate from a surface of the opposite substrate. The auxiliary wiring is arranged within a region provided with an extension portion in a liquid shielding section, and extends in an X-axis direction in a plan view, and a length in a Y-axis direction of the spacer section is larger than a width in the X-axis direction of the spacer section. The spacer section crosses the auxiliary wiring in a crossing region where the extension portion and an extension portion cross each other in a plan view.
