Abstract:
A polylactic acid resin composition containing a polylactic acid resin, glass fibers having an average aspect ratio (average fiber length/average fiber diameter) of 5 or more, and a metallic pigment, wherein the glass fibers are contained in an amount of from 2 to 35 parts by mass, and the metallic pigment is contained in an amount of from 0.1 to 8 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the polylactic acid resin. Since the polylactic acid resin composition of the present invention has excellent moldability, and is capable of providing a molded article with high designability, including a transparent surface layer and an inner layer with a lamellar texture in the nashiji patterns, the polylactic acid resin composition can be suitably used in various industrial applications, such as daily sundries, household electric appliance parts, packaging materials for household electric appliance parts, and automobile parts.

A material for audio equipment housing containing a polylactic acid resin composition containing a polylactic acid resin, a plasticizer, an organic crystal nucleating agent, and an inorganic material, wherein the content of the plasticizer is from 1 to 50 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the polylactic acid resin; and a vibration-damping material containing a polylactic acid resin composition containing a polylactic acid resin, a plasticizer, an organic crystal nucleating agent, and an inorganic material, wherein the content of the plasticizer is from 1 to 50 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the polylactic acid resin. The material of the present invention can be suitably used as materials for audio equipment of, for example, speakers, television, radio cassette players, headphones, audio components, or microphones, and manufactured articles, such as electric appliances, transportation vehicles, construction buildings, and industrial equipment, or parts or housing thereof.

A method for producing a polylactic acid resin composition, including the following steps (1) and (2): step (1): subjecting an organic crystal nucleating agent to a wet pulverization in the presence of a carboxylic acid ester having a weight-average molecular weight of from 150 to 600 and a viscosity at 23° C. of from 1 to 500 mP·s and/or a phosphoric ester having a weight-average molecular weight of from 150 to 600 and a viscosity at 23° C. of from 1 to 500 mPa·s to give a finely pulverized organic crystal nucleating agent composition; and step (2): melt-kneading a raw material for a polylactic acid resin composition comprising the finely pulverized organic crystal nucleating agent composition obtained in the step (1) and a polylactic acid resin. The polylactic acid resin composition obtainable by the method of the present invention can be suitably used in various industrial applications, such as daily sundries, household electric appliance parts, packaging materials for household electric appliance parts, and automobile parts.
