Abstract: A device and method for absorbing electromagnetic waves can include a honeycomb sheet formed by a plurality of interconnected hexagon cells arranged in rows. The hexagon cells are made up of sidewalls, each sidewall formed by two surfaces that converge at a top of the sidewall and diverge from the top to a bottom of the sidewall such that a thickness of the sidewalls increases from top to bottom and an angle forms between the two surfaces at the top of the sidewall. In an example, the angle is about 8 degrees. The honeycomb sheet can be coated with a magnetic, composite coating to increase electromagnetic shielding. An example coating includes magnetic multi-granular nanoclusters (MGNC) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT). A base layer can be attached to the honeycomb sheet for mechanical stability and additional absorption. The device is suitable for radar absorbing materials (RAM) for aerospace and military applications.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a hydrothermal process of preparing lithium iron phosphate (LiFePCO4) nanoparticles. It further discloses a composite electrode comprising lithium iron phosphate, multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and polyvinylidene fluoride as well as a method of manufacturing this composite electrode. It also discloses a free-standing composite electrode comprising spinel-Li4Ti5O12, multiwalled carbon nanotubes and carboxymethyl cellulose as well as a method of manufacturing this free-standing composite electrode.

Abstract: Methods of preparing metal-sulfide particles, such as for use in lithium-ion capacitors may include preparing a precursor solution. The precursor solution may include a copper-containing precursor and a metal-containing precursor. The methods may include mixing the precursor solution with water to form an aqueous precursor solution. The methods may include adding a sulfur-containing precursor to the aqueous precursor solution to form a sulfur-containing aqueous precursor solution. The methods may include heating the sulfur-containing aqueous precursor solution. The methods may include recovering a precipitate from the sulfur-containing aqueous precursor solution. The precipitate may be or include metal-sulfide particles.
