Abstract: Wound dressings fabricated from a polymeric mixture of cellulose acetate and hyaluronic acid embedded with copper oxide and/or magnesium oxide nanoparticles and a method of making the wound dressing. The method includes combining hyaluronic acid and deionized water to form a first mixture, combining cellulose acetate and acetone to form a second mixture, combining the first and second mixtures to form a third mixture of hyaluronic acid, cellulose acetate, deionized water and acetone, separately adding at least one of a copper acetate solution and a magnesium chloride solution to the third mixture to form a fourth mixture, adding sodium hydride to the fourth mixture to form a final mixture, and drying the final mixture to form a film used for the wound dressing. Different weights of copper oxide and magnesium oxide can be chosen to achieve a certain morphological appearance. The wound dressing is a promising option for wound healing.

Abstract: A photochromic material can include nanoparticles of rare-earth activated strontium aluminate (NRESA) embedded into polylactic acid (PLA). In some embodiments, the photochromic material may be transparent. In other embodiments, the photochromic material may be scratch resistant. In some embodiments, the photochromic material may be configured to form an anti-counterfeiting substance. The photochromic material may exhibit a green coloration after exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. The NRESA may have a diameter of about 10 nm to about 15 nm. The electrospun photoluminescent nanofibrous film may have a fiber diameter of about 50 nm to about 200 nm.

Abstract: A photochromic material can include nanoparticles of lanthanide-activated strontium aluminate (NLSA) embedded into polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The PET may further include electrospun polypropylene nanofibers (PPNF) incorporated therein. In some embodiments, the photochromic material may be transparent. In other embodiments, the photochromic material may be scratch resistant. In some embodiments, the photochromic material may be configured to form concrete. In still other embodiments, the photochromic material may be configured to form windows. The electrospun polypropylene nanofibers may be a roughening agent in the PET. The photochromic material may exhibit a green coloration after exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. The NLSA may have a diameter of about 80 nm to about 120 nm. The PPNF may have a diameter of about 75 nm to about 180 nm. The photochromic material may be superhydrophobic.
