Abstract: An aerosol generating device includes: a case into which a cigarette is to be inserted; a cap detachably coupled to a top portion of the case; a cover configured to slide on a top surface of the cap so as to open or close a cigarette insertion hole; a first sensor configured to sense whether the cigarette insertion hole is open or closed; and a controller configured to determine whether the cigarette insertion hole is open or closed based on a signal sensed by the first sensor and set an operational mode of the aerosol generating device as an ON mode or an OFF mode based on a result of the determining.

Abstract: A vaporizer includes a liquid storage for storing an aerosol generating material, an upper cap having a liquid inlet through which the aerosol generating material is introduced, a lower cap coupled to the upper cap to form an aerosol generating space together with the upper cap, a liquid delivery element that is arranged in the aerosol generating space and absorbs the aerosol generating material delivered from the liquid storage, and a heating element that generates an aerosol by heating the aerosol generating material absorbed by the liquid delivery element, wherein the lower cap may include a support groove for supporting at least part of the liquid delivery element and inner walls facing both ends of the liquid delivery element.
