Abstract: A multi-constellation transceiver, a satellite terminal containing the same, and a method using the same are disclosed. In some embodiments, the satellite terminal includes an antenna, a common port coupled to the antenna, and a plurality of modems to be switched into and out of use in real-time, via software commands, to allow transitioning between networks via software commands, each of the modems associated with a different satellite constellation. The satellite terminal also includes a multi-constellation transceiver, communicably coupled to the antenna via the common port and to the plurality of modems, to route signals between the antenna and individual modems of the plurality of modems.
