A hollow tube projectile is configured with a leading edge to first exit a firearm barrel and a trailing edge to follow there through, the hollow tube projectile comprising an annular airfoil slug. A longitudinal cross section of the annular airfoil slug resembles an airplane wing having a rounded leading edge and a sharp trailing edge and an outer lift surface there around and an inner cylindrical surface. Three or more fins are distributed equidistantly around the annular airfoil slug, each fin having an inner edge complementary to the outer lift surface and an outer edge parallel to a major axis through the annular airfoil slug. The hollow tube projectile further comprises a launch wafer comprising a metal insert adapted to contain combustion gases during launch of the annular airfoil slug. The launch wafer is adapted to receive the metal insert and concentrically position it within a hollow tube cartridge.
Abstract:
A train rail track structure system includes a c-face down steel channel cross tie defining a plurality of holes in a top wider web surface thereof and a protrusion with perpendicular faces extending from an underside of the top surface, the holes configured to pass a fixative and solidifying mixture into a ballast bed there beneath. The protrusion anchors the steel channel cross tie in the fixative and solidifying mixture and the ballast bed. The disclosed system also includes a c-face down steel channel connecting link defining a receptacle for at least one intermediate rail support member in a top wider web surface thereof. The link also defines tabs and notches proximal to both longitudinal ends of the steel channel connecting link configured to interleave with at least one steel channel cross tie and interlock the steel channel connecting link to the steel channel cross tie.
Abstract:
A tray for storing articles, such as cylindrical beverage containers, in a substantially upright position includes a bottom member and four wall members interconnected to provide an enclosure for receiving the articles. Each of the wall members has a support member protruding into the enclosure from the corresponding wall member. Each support member has a support surface which is inclined upwardly from the corresponding wall member into the enclosure. A portion of the outer surface of the bottom member adjacent to each of the wall members is also inclined upwardly and is adapted to contact the corresponding support surfaces of another tray when two or more trays are nested. A plurality of external rib members are disposed on respective outer surfaces of the wall members for contacting respective inner surfaces of the wall members of another tray when two or more trays are nested. The engagement between the external rib members of the inner tray and the inner wall surfaces of the outer tray aligns the respective top rim members of the nested trays along respective vertical axes and provides sufficient spacing between the nested trays to prevent the trays from "locking" or sticking together.

Abstract:
A system for processing oilfield produced water comprises an onsite non-turbulent fractioning centrifuge configured to pretreat the produced waters and remove emulsified oil therefrom to generate de-oiled water. The centrifuge comprises separating a heavier component from a lighter component within a mixed fluid via a separator chamber, a stack of driven flat discs, a disc shaft rotator, a first outlet for the heavier component and a second outlet for the lighter component and a feed pump that supplies raw fluids to the separator. Also included, is an onsite means to eradicate remaining petroleum hydrocarbons and related contaminants and generate oil-free water thereby. An onsite water demineralizer generates potable water from the oil-free water. A system for separating and processing oilfield produced water further comprises an aggregate tank battery configured to collect raw fluids from wells and pipelines and separate crude oil and produced waters via gravity.
Abstract:
A steel rail solar radiation shield comprises a coating applied to the steel rail configured to one of block, reflect and frequency shift solar radiation from being transferred to the steel rail via particulates suspended in the coating. The applied coating is configured to be self-cleaning via at least one of additional water, carbon dioxide, heat and an additional superficial sol coating configured to shed contaminates from the applied solar radiation shield coating. A solar radiation shield retains a ballast to block and reflect the solar radiation from the steel rail and have self-cleaning properties. Heat applied to an aqueous calcium to species forms a reformed solid surface. A superficial sol coating of titanium dioxide via a photo-catalysis yields ions which chemically remove common surface debris. Furthermore, a precipitated crystalline calcium sulfate hydrate bonds to the rail and produces a reformed and cleaned surface to shield the rails from solar radiation.
Abstract:
A separator for separating a first component and a second component from within a mixed fluid includes a plurality of discs, a separator chamber, and a disc rotator. The discs are spaced apart along a disc axis The separator chamber encircles the plurality of discs. The disc rotator rotates the plurality of discs about the disc axis relative to the separator chamber. The separator chamber includes a chamber inlet that receives the mixed fluid, a first outlet, and a second outlet. The disc rotator rotates the plurality of discs about the disc axis so that the mixed fluid is spun around the separator chamber about the disc axis to separate the heavier second component from the first component. The first component is directed out of the separator through the first outlet and the second component is directed out of separator through the second outlet.
Abstract:
Modular frame assemblies are made up of longitudinal beam members which may be angle or channel-shaped members having slots which intersect the flanges and legs or flanges and web portions of the longitudinal beam members. Transverse beam members extend between the longitudinal beam members and have flange portions which extend into the slots. The transverse beam members may be secured to the longitudinal beam members by conventional mechanical bolt assemblies, for example. In one embodiment, the slots in the longitudinal beam members have inwardly tapering surfaces which effect elastic deflection of the flanges of the transverse beam members to precisely locate the longitudinal beam members relative to each other and to the transverse beam members. In another embodiment, the slots in the longitudinal beam members are somewhat L-shaped and permit extension of the flange of the transverse beam member into a position to engage a flange of the longitudinal beam members, respectively, to be secured to each other by mechanical fasteners and to be located relative to the longitudinal beam members by opposed transverse surfaces on the transverse beam members. Another embodiment includes transverse channel shaped beams which have opposed distal web portions secured to the longitudinal beams and transverse edges of the channel shaped beams abut the legs or webs of the longitudinal beams.
