Abstract:
A system for comprehensively and effectively acquiring, as an interest graph, targets and regions of interest unique to a user is provided. A system according to the invention is a search system using as input means image information containing various objects and subjects, in which by querying an image recognition engine on the server side via a network about a selected image, the image recognition engine extracts and recognizes in real time various generic objects and the like contained in the specified image, and notifies a relevance search engine on the server side of recognized image components contained in the input image, and the relevance search engine extracts related elements for the individual image components, and visually presents a relevance graph with the extracted related elements as nodes together with the depths of relationships between the nodes.
Abstract:
Provided is an image display system which allows a user to browse an object of interest in a background as if she/he picks up and moves the object of interest by hand, and allows the user to visually enter inside a specified object placed on the background. The image display system of the present invention is characterized in that it has a mother database (MDB) reconfigured from a database for configuring an object, wherein an image (a two-dimensional image, a three-dimensional space or a four-dimensional space) based on the MDB, in an entire image, is substituted for an object subjected to the object recognition based on the MDB, and synthetically displayed.
Abstract:
A computer system enabling mutual exchange of information between users and digital content, in a manner corresponding to each individual disk, comprises a plurality of computers each capable of being loaded with a disk having a unique disk ID, and a verification server capable of being connected with the computers via a network. Each disk has a unique ID, and the verification server has a user database for accumulating user information corresponding to the disk ID. The verification server identifies the disk based on the disk ID, and transmits data corresponding to the disk to the computer.
Abstract:
An entertainment device or other electronic device having an outward shape improved in functionality compared with that in the related art are provided. The electronic device includes a main housing that is formed in an approximately elliptical cylinder form, and disposed in a such a manner that a longitudinal direction is approximately horizontal to a setting surface, and has medium insertion ports for inserting a portable information storage medium such as an optical disk, and an approximately boxlike base portion attached to a lower portion of the main housing.
Abstract:
Various apparatus, methods and systems for insertion of advertisements in various environments are provided. Apparatus, methods and systems for profiling users, registering advertisement impressions and generating feedback in response to advertisement viewing are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A disk device that can accommodate disks of different diameter sizes and can be used in the horizontal or vertical orientation is provided with a disk tray on which an optical disk is placed, a chucking member that holds an optical disk in place at its center, and a drive motor that rotates the chucking member and is installed on a base member, which is rotatably supported inside the main body of the disk device. The chucking member is movable with the disk tray during the inward and outward movement of the disk tray with respect to the main body of the disk device, while the drive motor is also moved into and out of engagement with the chucking member as the disk tray moves into and out of the main body of the disk device.
Abstract:
A digital audio signal generating apparatus suitable for the application to electronic musical instruments, sound effect generators for amusement machines and the like. This digital audio signal generating apparatus has a signal processing section and a memory used to perform a speech synthesis, wherein the signal processing section utilizes a vacant area of the memory to perform a delay processing to add a reverberation sound. Thus, the number of required memories can be reduced and the arrangement of the apparatus can be simplified.
Abstract:
Apparatus for recording or reproducing both digital and analog signals on or from respective substantially concentric recording tracks on a rotating magnetic disc with only digital or analog signals being recorded in any one of the tracks comprises a transducer mounted in substantially contacting relation to the magnetic disc for recording or reproducing the digital and analog signals on or from the tracks, a motor coupled to the transducer for moving the transducer radially with respect to the magnetic disc, a track status memory for storing track ID (identifying) information for each of the recording tracks and producing a track classifying signal corresponding thereto, and a level detecting circuit for detecting levels of signals reproduced from the tracks and producing a level indicating signal corresponding thereto. A control is jointly responsive to the track classifying signal and the level indicating signal for controlling the motor so that it positions the transducer in closed-loop servo tracking relation to a given track on the basis of the level indicating signal when the track classifying signal indicates that the given track or at least one track adjacent thereto contains an analog signal and otherwise effects open-loop positioning of the transducer regardless of the level indicating signal. This enables accurate reproduction of the analog signals coupled with rapid access to the digital signals.
Abstract:
In distributed processing on a network, improvement of resource management and high efficiency of task scheduling are becoming the goals that need to be achieved. In a multiprocessor computer, a sub-processor included in a multiprocessor brings a resource manager into operation, while the resource manager being loaded in local memory, which receives resource information that can be provided from a computer on a network via a network and manages the resource information, and processes provision of the resource being managed when a request for use of the resource is received. Other sub-processors bring a resource scheduler into operation, while the resource scheduler being loaded in the local memory, which receives a request for use of a resource from a computer on a network and manages the request for use of a resource, and allocates a resource provided by the resource manager as a mediator in response to the request for use of the resource.
