Abstract: A rotor stack for connection to a shaft of a rotary electric machine includes a series of platters each centered about a centerline and including an opening for receiving the shaft such that the platters are stacked along the shaft. Passages extend through the platter and are arranged about the centerline. Permanent magnets are positioned in the passages. Hubs associated with the platters mechanically connect each of the platters to the shaft.

Abstract: An assembly includes at least one member having first and second ends. A dual metal adapter for connecting to the at least one member includes an inner tube for receiving and contacting the first end of the at least one member and being formed from a first metal having a first resistivity. An outer tube extends over the inner tube and is secured thereto. The outer tube is formed from a second metal having a second resistivity greater than the first resistivity. The first end of the at least one member is metallurgically bonded to the inner tube.

Abstract: A stator for a rotary electric machine includes a core extending along an axis and having a series of axially extending passages arranged circumferentially about the axis. A plurality of teeth are provided with each tooth including an axially extending inner surface defining a passage and a projection extending therein. Retention devices secure each tooth to the stator. Each retention device includes a resilient member having a base extending within one of the passages of the stator and an arm extending from the base and within the passage of one of the teeth. The arm including an enlarged portion for engaging the projection to pull the tooth into engagement with the core.
