Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: first and second substrates facing and spaced apart from each other, the first and second substrates having a pixel region; a gate line and a data line on an inner surface of the first substrate, the gate line and the data line crossing each other adjacent to the pixel region; a thin film transistor connected to the gate line and the data line in the pixel region; a first electrode of a plate shape over the thin film transistor; a second electrode of a bar shape over the first electrode; and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates.
