Abstract:
In a frame, a cassette module for light waveguides contains a plurality of cassettes swivellable around an axis. Connecting leads or connecting fibers thereof are conducted over a vertically residing guide backplane.
Abstract:
A cap sleeve for a light waveguide cable for universal employment in a light waveguide network receives a fastening frame, which provides a storage space for excess lengths of uncut light waveguide multi-fiber bundles, and provides a splicing block on which individual splicing cassettes can be removed by a tilting motion.
Abstract:
A splice protection device is constructed for acceptance of a pair of light waveguides, with the splice location being optimally sealed by elastic holders having an adhesive film. The elastic splice protection device can be utilized in a bent shape, so that the dimensions of a cassette and other receptacle devices can be designed to be smaller.
Abstract:
For installation, a cable (5, 17) or empty pipe is anchored in a canal or pipe system (1, 3) at a minimum of 2 anchoring points (2) along the longitudinal direction of the canal or pipe system. The cable (5, 17) or an empty pipe and at least one holding device (12, 21) fastened to the inner wall (16) of the canal or pipe system are installed in the area of a branch point (6) in such a way, that the cable or empty pipe are guided around the branch point by means of the holding device and due to their defined pre-tension. The installation can be done comparatively quickly and easily, and after installation the function of the branch point, for example, in the form of an inlet canal, is not diminished.
Abstract:
A cassette which serves the purpose of connecting and branching light waveguides has a reserve length thereof for each of the waveguides deposited in the cassette in either a figure eight or circular or oval pattern. To accomplish this, the cassette is formed with upstanding holding devices which enable winding the waveguides in a figure eight pattern or in a circular pattern, or both. A plurality of the cassettes can be interconnected together to form a cassette block which can be opened hinge-like. To interconnect waveguides in one cassette with the other cassette, each of the cassettes is provided with an opening in a floor of the cassette and a portion of the side wall midway along the longitudinal side wall, which side wall is positioned adjacent a hinge interconnecting the cassettes together.
Abstract:
A connector device for two light waveguides, which has a receptacle part formed by a carrier member having a recess receiving a central retaining part, which is movable in a radial direction in the recess, and a pair of pressure members movable from a position to urge the central retaining part radially inward to clamp stripped waveguides in an abutting alignment. The pressing members are constructed so that when in a non-pressing position, they still maintain the central retaining part in a loose, assembled relationship. The device can also include a gripping arrangement at each end for gripping the unstripped portions of the waveguide so that the joint between the two stripped portions is not subjected to tension placed on the waveguides.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for introducing an optical cable, in the form of a microcable or minicable (1), in solid ground (17) with the aid of a laying unit (23). The microcable or minicable (1) used for this purpose comprises a homogeneous and pressurized-water-tight tube (8) which has an external diameter of from 2.0 to 10 mm and into which optical waveguides (3) are introduced.

Abstract:
A method and device for on-site producing a cable at the location for placing the cable includes a mobile device supporting an arrangement for forming a protective sheath of the cable and an arrangement for inserting the optical fibers or electrical leads into the sheath and then discharging the sheath into a cable laying position. The device may include an arrangement for forming a trench for receiving the cable, an arrangement for inserting a filling compound into the interior of the sheath as the leads or fibers are introduced therein and means for supplying a filling material for filling the trench subsequent to insertion of the cable therein.
Abstract:
An intermediate layer in which at least one channel-like depression is provided on the outer conductor of a coaxial cable. The depression proceeds helically with respect to the cable axis and at least one light waveguide is arranged in it. An outside envelope is applied outside the intermediate layer.
