Abstract: A hinge system for moving a closure panel relative to a vehicle body of a motor vehicle between open and closed positions includes a closure panel bracket configured for attachment to the closure panel; a mount bracket configured for attachment to the vehicle body, and a hinge member pivotably coupled to the closure panel bracket about a first axis of rotation and to the mount bracket about a second axis of rotation. The hinge member is configured to pivot about both the first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation over a first range of motion between the open and closed position, and is configured to pivot about one of the first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation over a second range of motion between the open and closed position.

Abstract: An isolated fixing system for attaching an actuator to a vehicle door including an actuator fixing clip having a head portion, an engagement portion, and a guide portion, an isolation grommet with a flange and a receiving portion configured to engage the fixing clip, and a receiver integrated with the actuator to secure the actuator to a vehicle. The system may include an actuator fixing clip, a head portion, an engagement portion, and a guide portion of the actuator fixing clip that may be configured to engage an opening in a vehicle door and that, when inserted into the vehicle door, may be rotatable via the head portion from an unlocked position to a locked position, fixing the actuator to the vehicle door.

Abstract: A power latch assembly for motor vehicle closure applications is provided that is normally actuated via electrical signals whereat inside and outside door handles are mechanically disengaged and wherein the inside and outside door handles can be selectively and/or automatically changed for mechanically engaged actuation. The inside door handles can be provided to be mechanically actuatable in direct response to selective disengagement of a child lock. The outside door handles can be provided to be mechanically actuatable in direct response to a crash condition.

Abstract: An actuation system for facilitating opening and closing of a closure panel of a vehicle via a hinge, the actuation system comprising: a pop up safety system mounted to a body of the vehicle adjacent to the hinge, the pop up safety system including a bracket connected to the closure panel; and a coupling mechanism coupling the hinge to the body in order to facilitate moving the closure panel from a closed hinge position to an open hinge position, such that the bracket is also connected to the coupling mechanism; wherein when the pop up safety system is operated, the bracket is decoupled from the coupling mechanism in order to facilitate movement of the closure panel away from the coupling mechanism.

Abstract: A power closure latch assembly with a manually actuatable release link, vehicle door therewith and method of allowing a power actuatable closure latch assembly to be converted for selective manual actuation is provided. The release link is configured to operably communicate an actuator lever with a release lever for conjoint movement therebetween, to provide power-assisted movement of a pawl between ratchet releasing and ratchet holding positions, when the release link is in a “normal” first operating position. The release link is further configured to allow the release lever to move independently from the actuator lever when the release link is in a manually deployed “override/reset” second position to provide spring-biased movement of the pawl from the ratchet releasing position back to the ratchet holding position.
