Abstract:
THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITIONS BASED ON HIGHLY CRYSTALLINE VINYL CHLORIDE POLYMERS AND CHARACTERIZED BY HIGH HEATRESISTANCE, EASY PROCESSABILITY, AND INCREASED OR REINFORCED IMPACT STRENGTH ARE DISCLOSED. THE NEW COMPOSITIONS COMPRISE (A) HIGHLY CRYSTALLINE VINYL CHLORIDE POLYMERS WHICH EXHIBIT SYNDIOTACTIC STERIC STRUCTURE (SPVC); (B) COPOLYMERS OF METHYL-METHACRYLATE AND ALPHA-METHYLSTYRENE (MMA-AMS); AND (C) AN ELASTOMERIC POLYMERIC MATERIAL WHICH MAY BE A GRAFT COPOLYMER OF STYRENE-METHYLMETHACRYLATE ONTO A POLYBUTADIENE RUBBER (MBS), A GRAFT COPOLYMER OF VINYL CHLORIDE ONTO AN ELASTOMERIC ETHYLENE/PROPYLENE COPOLYMER (PVC-OLEFIN), OR A GRAFT COPOLYMER OF VINYL CHLORIDE ONTO CHLORINATED PLYETHYLENE (PVC-PECI).
