Abstract: A device for producing a fluid jet suitable for hygienic requirements in mechanical wound cleaning, including removal of biological tissue, may include a drive casing with a drive and a pump module with a pump casing which can be detachably joined. The drive casing may include a positive-locking element and the pump casing may include a positive-locking counter-element. The positive-locking element may interact with the positive-locking counter-element so that the pump casing is imposed a pivotal motion relative to the drive casing until reaching a final position. In final position the pump casing may be connected to the drive casing and a drive element may be connected to an associated drive counter-element. Drive element and drive counter-element may be arranged eccentric to a pivot axis of the pivotal motion and may be formed so a positive-locking connection arises between the drive element and drive counter-element due to the pivotal motion.

Abstract: A pump module with a casing having at least one pump piston is mounted in a reciprocatingly movable manner and may include a sealing element which, in pumping operation, abuts in a sealing manner against a cylinder. An embodiment of a pump module, which is easy to produce and can be disinfected or sterilized in a simple manner, includes a pump piston that can be fixated in a parking position in which the sealing element does not abut against the cylinder.

Abstract: A protective cover for the protection against contamination from body and/or irrigation fluid during treatment of wounds/ulcers includes a first opening to be placed on a patient and a second opening for inserting a handpiece. The protective cover includes a fluid-tight and flexible hollow body that defines a treatment chamber having a shape that adapts to motion of a handpiece. The hollow body may include a stiffening element for keeping the first opening in an open state during treatment. Additionally, a device for the irrigation of wounds or ulcers, such as for debriding dead body tissue by way of a micro water jet, may include a hand-operated lance with a nozzle for producing an irrigation fluid jet, such as a micro water jet. The lance may be inserted through the second opening of the protective cover so that the nozzle is located within the treatment chamber of the protective cover.

Abstract: A system for treating, in particular cleansing, wounds with a fluid jet. The system includes a handpiece with a main body with a front end with an emergence opening for the emergence of the fluid jet. The system furthermore has at least one light-emitting light source, which irradiates aerosols created when cleansing the wound. The system enables wound cleansing with simultaneous decontamination of the aerosols created in the process such that the risk of contamination of the surroundings is reduced and preferably with simultaneously treating the wound with UV light.

Abstract: A pump module and a device for producing a fluid jet with a pump module are disclosed. In an embodiment the pump module may include a pump housing in which at least one pump piston is mounted in a reciprocatingly movable manner and is provided with at least one sealing element which during a pumping operation interacts with a cylinder. For creating such a pump module producible in a simple manner and nevertheless exhibiting the functionality necessary for the pumping operation, embodiments disclose a valve block, which receives at least one valve associated with the cylinder, wherein the cylinder is sealed against the valve block. Furthermore, a cover element may abut against the valve block on a side opposite to the cylinder and between itself and the valve block forms an inlet passage leading to the cylinder and/or an outlet passage communicating with the cylinder.

Abstract: A method of emitting a water jet includes emitting a water pressure between 50 and 200 bar through a nozzle element that has a cylindrical nozzle body forming a flow passage for the water jet, and at least one nozzle opening emitting a jet stream to the surrounding area whose smallest dimension is not more than 0.15 mm, and wherein a fan jet is created on the surface to be treated at a working distance of about 80 mm between the nozzle opening and the surface to be treated. A handpiece is disclosed that includes a nozzle element that may be accommodated in the handpiece and may, in part, provide for emitting a water jet as disclosed.
