Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed which has a media player, a local user interface, the local user interface being a primary presentation resource for the media player, a wireless communication interface, a media output port for connection to a remote media presentation device as a secondary presentation resource for the media player, and a controller. The controller is configured for receiving a wireless signal via the wireless communication interface from a remote control device designed for controlling an external device other than the apparatus. The controller is also configured for processing the received wireless signal to determine an action of the media player, and causing the media player to perform the determined action and output a result of the action to the media output port for presentation on the remote media presentation device if connected.
