Abstract: An optical combiner lens for a wearable heads-up display includes a first lens, a second lens, and a lightguide disposed between the first lens and the second lens to form a stack. A first medium gap is defined within the stack and between the first lens and the lightguide, and a second medium gap is defined within the stack and between the lightguide and the second lens. An in-coupler is positioned to receive light into the lightguide. An out-coupler is positioned to output light from the lightguide.

Abstract: An optical transmission hinge includes a first hinge body and a second hinge body. A pivot joint is formed between the first hinge body and the second hinge body. The pivot joint defines a pivot axis. A first optical element and a second optical element are positioned on the pivot axis, and the second optical element is spaced apart from the first optical element. An intermediary optical path that is coincident with the pivot axis extends between the first optical element and the second optical element. Temples and wearable heads-up displays including the optical transmission hinge are disclosed.

Abstract: A combiner lens includes a first lens, a lightguide, and a second lens. The first lens includes a first lens body and a flange integrally formed with the first lens body. The first lens body and flange define a main cavity. The flange has a first joint surface. The lightguide is disposed at least partially in the main cavity. The second lens includes a second lens body positioned in stack with the lightguide and the first lens body. The second lens has a second joint surface in opposing relation to the first joint surface. The second lens is attached to the first lens by a joint formed between the first joint surface and the second joint surface.
