Abstract:
The application relates to a hearing device configured to be placed in the ear canal of a user, the hearing device comprising a forward path adapted for processing an input sound and providing an output sound representative of the input sound, the hearing device comprising an assembly comprising first and second modules adapted for being in mechanical contact with each other when the hearing device is operationally assembled to form a functional unit. The object of the present application is to provide a user friendly hearing device adapted for being located in an ear canal of the user. The problem is solved in that the first module comprises a power supply unit, and the second module comprises an input unit, a signal processing unit and an output unit in operational connection, wherein the first and second modules are configured to provide that the first and second modules are reversibly attachable to and detachable from each other; and the first and second modules are electrically connected to provide that units of the second module are energized by the battery of the first module, when the first and second modules are operationally assembled. This has the advantage of providing relatively simple and easy to use hearing device. The invention may e.g. be used for hearing aids, in particular extended wear hearing aids adapted for being located deep in the ear canal of a user.
Abstract:
An insert for a hearing device is disclosed. The insert member is a flexible sealing part configured to be inserted into the ear canal of a hearing device user. The insert member comprises at least one through-going hole permeable for sound generated by the hearing device, the sound being transmitted through the insert member to an eardrum of the hearing device user or the at least one through-going hole being configured to allow an acoustically active part of the hearing device to be releasably fastened thereto. The insert member comprises a bag structure containing a non-hardened shapeable material and wherein an opening for receiving a hardening member is provided in the bag structure. The non-hardened shapeable material is configured to be hardened by means of a temperature increment and/or electromagnetic radiation, such as UV radiation or a chemical reaction.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to detachable speaker units for hearing aid devices, and the hearing aid devices having detachable speaker units. The detachable speaker unit have at least an output transducer for providing a signal perceivable as sound to a user. The detachable speaker unit includes a memory unit storing information relating to characteristics of the output capabilities of the detachable speaker unit, such as transfer function of output transducer and/or transfer function of the entire, or parts of, assembly.
Abstract:
An adapter configured to connect to a probe tube for calibrating a hearing aid device is disclosed. The adapter comprises a tubular pipe member and an opening through which the adapter is adapted to receive the probe tube. The adapter comprises an input member configured to connect to a connection member for providing fluid communication between the probe tube and the connection member through the adapter. An outer diameter of the probe tube is 5-20%, preferably 8-15% smaller than an inner diameter of the cylindrical space of the pipe member and that length of the cylindrical space of the pipe member is at least five times, preferably at least ten times larger than the outer diameter of the probe tube. Hereby it is achieved that a long narrow gab can be provided between probe tube and the pipe member of the adapter so that a sufficient acoustic seal can be accomplished.
Abstract:
A hearing aid device configured to be partly or fully inserted into the ear canal of a user is disclosed. The hearing aid device comprises a receiver (loudspeaker) adapted to generate and send an air-borne acoustic signal towards the eardrum when the hearing aid device is partly or fully inserted into the ear canal. The hearing aid device further comprises a microphone configured to receive acoustic signals. The hearing aid device comprises a processing unit configured to determine if the hearing aid device is positioned in a correct position in the ear canal on the basis of the acoustic signals received by the microphone.
Abstract:
An ear strap is disclosed. The ear strap comprises attachment means configured to be attached to a tube. The ear strap has a flexible member configured to be placed within the concha of the ear and to be held in place by the concha of the ear. The flexible member is configured to take a form that fits the shape of the concha of the ear. The ear strap comprises means for adjusting the position of the tube relative to the attachment means.
Abstract:
Acoustic duct connector for an acoustic duct of the type being used for real ear measurements, the acoustic duct connector comprising a first surface portion and a first acoustic duct exiting from said first surface portion, and comprising a first magnetical component for engaging to a second magnetical component comprised by a receiving connector such, that an airborne sound signal can propagate from the first acoustic duct to a second acoustic duct exiting from a second surface portion of the receiving connector when the acoustic duct connector and the receiving connector are connected to each other.
