Abstract: A hearing aid adapted for being worn by a user comprises a housing configured to enclose components of the hearing aid; a forward audio signal path for receiving an audio signal, processing the audio signal and providing an output signal in dependence of said processed audio signal; a mechanical activation element for controlling functionality of said hearing aid, wherein the mechanical activation element is located on said housing and emits an acoustic signature when activated; and a vibration sensor configured to pick up acoustic vibrations in air or mechanical vibrations of said housing and to provide a sensor signal indicative thereof; and a controller for analyzing said sensor signal for occurrences of said acoustic signature to thereby identify and generate a specific control input for controlling said functionality of the hearing aid. Thereby an improved hearing aid may be provided.
