    Abstract: A hearing aid device is disclosed. The hearing aid device comprises a receiver configured to be arranged in the ear canal. The hearing aid device comprises a directional microphone system comprising two microphones or one microphone having two sound inlets. The hearing aid device comprises means for counteracting acoustic feedback on the basis of sound signals detected by the two microphones or the two sound inlets. The hearing aid device comprises an “open fitting” providing ventilation. The two microphones or the two sound inlets of the directional microphone (forming part of a directional system) are arranged in the ear canal at the same side of the receiver and sound is allowed to propagate freely between the microphones or between the inlets of the directional microphone and the receiver. Preferably, the hearing aid device comprises a procedure (such as an adaptive procedure) for optimising the directional system of the hearing aid device. An improved feedback reduction is thereby achieved, while allowing a relatively large gain to be applied to the incoming signal.

    Abstract: A binaural hearing system comprising left and right hearing devices is provided, each comprising an input unit providing an electric input signal representing an environmental sound; a noise reduction system for estimating and reducing a noise component of the electric input signal; antenna and transceiver circuitry allowing the exchange of data between the hearing devices. The binaural hearing system is—in a mode of operation, where a sound source is predominantly audible at a first one of the hearing devices—configured to transmit the estimate of the noise component determined in a second one of the hearing devices to the first hearing device and to use said estimate to reduce the noise component in the electric signal of the first hearing device and to provide a noise reduced signal in the first hearing device.     Abstract: The application relates to a method of reproducing an acoustical sound field to a listener at a first location, to a method of testing a hearing assistance system, and to a hearing assistance test system.
