    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to systems, apparatuses, and methods for beam determination prior to an indication of an activated beam. A user equipment may receive a configuration for one or more transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states; receive downlink control information that schedules a downlink transmission after a time offset; determine, prior to receiving an indication of an activated TCI state of the one or more TCI states, a beam for receiving the downlink transmission; and receive the downlink transmission using the beam.     Abstract: Cell reselection and other operations involving signal measurements at a UE may increase the power consumption and operation complexity at a UE, such as a reduced capacity UE (RedCap UE). In some scenarios, for example, a UE may need to frequently switch to bandwidth parts (BWPs) outside the bandwidth of its initial DL bandwidth part to receive and measure synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) for cell reselection, which increases the power consumption of the UE. The aspects described herein allow a UE to measure SSBs in one or more bandwidth parts that is not an initial DL bandwidth part configured by a serving cell of the UE in response to an event trigger or a message received at the UE. The SSBs may be associated with the serving cell of the UE or with a non-serving cell. The UE performs a cell reselection operation based on the measurements.

    Abstract: In order to enable a UE receiving a narrowband signal transmitted using in-band resources to use the LTE reference signals to assist the UE in receiving the narrowband signal using an in-band deployment, a phase rotation employed by the base station may be fixed relative to a known reference position in time. An apparatus for wireless communication at a base station may determine a phase offset for a narrowband signal for transmission using wideband resources, the phase offset having a relationship to a reference point in time and transmit the narrowband signal using the determined phase offset. An apparatus for wireless communication at a UE may receive a narrowband signal having a frequency location within a wideband signal and rotate a symbol of the wideband signal by a per symbol phase offset having a relationship of the phase offset to a reference point in time.

    Abstract: The aspects described herein are directed to measurement and reporting procedures of an apparatus (e.g., a low-tier user-equipment (UE) or a regular UE) when a bandwidth part (BWP) of the apparatus includes one or both of a first type of synchronization signal block (SSB) (e.g., a cell-defining (CD-SSB)) and second type of SSB (e.g., a non-cell-defining SSB (NCD-SSB)). The apparatus measures at least one of the first type of SSB that is periodically transmitted to a first group of UEs, a second type of SSB that is periodically transmitted within a time window to a second group of UEs, or both the first type of SSB and the second type of SSB for an operation based on a configuration of the operation, and performs the operation based on a measurement of at least one of the first type of SSB, the second type of SSB, or a combination thereof.
