Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an energy harvesting (EH) device may receive a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration that indicates a DRX on-duration for data communication and an EH configuration that indicates a reserved EH duration during which the first device harvests energy and does not transmit or receive data. The DRX on-duration and the reserved EH duration may be part of a periodic cycle. The EH device may perform data communication during the DRX on-duration. The EH device may switch one or more antennas of the first device to an EH mode and perform EH during the reserved EH duration. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An active wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE), a network entity, or both, may receive or otherwise determine a resource allocation for communication with a passive device. The active device may select one or more parameters of a waveform transmission (e.g., a transmission power, duration, or both) for activating the passive device while accounting for a time gap between resources. In some cases, a network entity may configure a list of parameters including the one or more parameters via control signaling. The active device may transmit the waveform transmission to the passive device in accordance with the one or more parameters, which may activate the passive device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may receive first control signaling indicating a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration associated with a set of DRX cycles. The communication device may receive second control signaling during a first inactive duration and before a first active duration associated with a first DRX cycle of the set of DRX cycles. The second control signaling may indicate pending data for the communication device. Additionally or alternatively, the second control signaling may include a request for feedback from the communication device. The feedback may indicate a capability for the communication device to receive the pending data during the first active duration, and an energy level of a power source associated with the communication device. The communication device may thereby receive the pending data based in part on the feedback from the communication device.
