Abstract: An information track of a color-picture sound disc comprises geometric variations in the bottom of a spiral groove, the variations having alternations between a first cross-sectional shape in which the groove bottom and adjacent groove walls define a continuous smooth curve and a second cross-sectional shape in which the groove bottom is depressed relative to the groove bottom level associated with the first cross-sectional shape. Recording apparatus for use in the mastering of such a color picture/sound disc and playback apparatus are also disclosed.
