Abstract: An electron emissive tube of the type having therein a cesiated cathode, and also having a metal anode electrode. The improvement comprises a thin, clean, non-porous coating of semiconductor material on the surface of the electrode. The coating prevents degradation of the cathode by inhibiting the release of contaminants from the electrode by electron-bombardmentstimulated desorption.
