POLYACRYLONITRILE SOULTIONS SUITABLE FOR SPINNING ARE ADVANTAGEOUSLY PRODUCED BY SOULTION POLYMERISATION IN A REACTOR HAVING AN AXIAL SHAFT CARRYING DISC SEPARATING THE REACTOR INTO SEPARATE REACTION ZONES, TURBINES FOR STIRRING THE ZONES SEPARATELY, AND SCRAPERS FOR THE UPPER PART OF THE REACTOR.
Abstract:
SPINNABLE ACRYLONITRILE POLYMER SOLUTIONS ARE MADE BY EVAPORATING THE WATER FROM A THIN FILM OF A WET DISPERSION OF THE POLYMER IN A SOLVENT THEREFOR HAVING A BOILING POINT HIGHER THAN WATER.
