Abstract:
Methods, devices, computer program products, processors and wireless networks are presented that provide for temporary storage of media content on a wireless communication device. According to aspects, when a wireless communication device requests media content from a media content service but is unable to receive the media due to insufficient memory availability, insufficient wireless network signal strength or another delivery attribute, the media content service automatically re-directs delivery of the content to the associated temporary storage wireless communication device. In turn, the wireless device that requested the media content is able to automatically retrieve the media content from the temporary storage device when memory capacity or network signal strength is deemed sufficient to provide for storage or reception.
Abstract:
Accurate inspection of a pattern (14) of metallized areas (12) printed on a substrate (10) is accomplished by compensating the pattern for any deformation prior to comparing the image thereof to that of a perfect (master) pattern (14'). The amount of compensation is determined by first capturing the image of selected elements in the pattern with the aid of a television camera (32). A machine vision processor (36) processes the output of the camera (32) to determine the offset of each of the selected elements in the pattern from the corresponding elements within a master pattern (14') which represents a perfectly formed version of the actual pattern (14). From the amount of offset between the selected elements in the pattern (14) and the corresponding elements in the master pattern (14'), the amount of pattern deformation at the preselected elements, as well as at all intermediate sites, is determined and the pattern is compensated accordingly.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate the automated delivery of media content, such as music, audio clips, advertisements and including other digitized multi-media files, in a wireless communication environment. In an aspect, the media content may be downloaded to a user based on various user-characteristics, such as a profile of the user, the preferences of the user for a genre of media content, and the behavior of the user with respect to user actions on a wireless communication device.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for providing visualization, which may be provided with Augmented Reality, illustrating information for a procedure on a wireless device include identifying and presenting a visualization scenario, such as a video and/or an animation illustrating the desired procedure to educate an user or provide guidance to an user to help him deal with his current context. The apparatus and methods also include revising the visualization scenario based upon an occurrence of an event that changes and/or alters the visualization scenario in a dynamic and adaptive manner.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for advertisement mixing in a communication system. A method operable by a network node includes determining an advertisement associated with a communication device, mixing the advertisement with a call service to be provided to the communication device, and transmitting the advertisement and the call service to the communication device. An apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive a call service, processing module configured to obtain an advertisement associated with the call service, and rendering module configured to render the advertisement.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, devices and computer program products are provided for locating, tracking and/or recovering a wireless communication device that has been misplaced, lost or stolen. In addition, the aspects provide for tracking or surveillance of the location or user in instances in which the wireless device has been loaned or is being used for covert surveillance. The aspects include communicating a locating state code to the targeted device, which detects the code and executes one or more routines that are associated with the respective code. In this regard, the targeted device is capable of carrying out different routines or sequences of actions depending on the state of the device, such as a misplaced state, a lost state, a stolen state or the like, which is based on the respective code.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are presented for recording broadcast media content at a wireless communication device and, in some aspects, sharing the recorded broadcast media content with other wireless communication devices. The disclosed aspects capture broadcasted media content at predetermined times by implementing a clock function that launches the capture and record module at the predetermined time. In certain aspects, the device incorporates a search function that allows for the predetermined selection of media content criteria that is used to search and determine the media content that is encoded and stored for subsequent use and/or sharing. In other aspects, the recorded broadcast media content is shared with other wireless communication devices by encoding the recorded/stored media content in a speech-format and communicating the speech-formatted media content to other wireless devices.
Abstract:
In-situ removal of material, such as solder paste (12), from openings (26--26) in a stencil (22) is accomplished by imparting a vibrational motion to the stencil. In practice, the stencil (22) may be vibrated by one or more DC solenoids (28--28), each having its plunger (28) in contact with the periphery of the stencil and each excited with AC so that the solenoid plunger undergoes a linear oscillation to vibrate the stencil.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for facilitating communication amongst a plurality of applications associated with at least one device is provided. The method may comprise receiving, by an extension module, a request from a first application to communicate with one or more applications, establishing a communication link between the first and at least one of the one or more applications, wherein the communication link allows the first and the at least one of the one or more applications to communicate at least one of data or control information, and storing, by the extension module, at least a portion of data communicated between the communicating applications.
