    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided facilitating control of material flow. A valve comprises a rotating disc, wherein the rotating disc further comprises at least one hole and one closure surface to facilitate opening and closing a material flow path. In an open state a hole is positioned in the flow path, in a closed state a closure surface is placed in the flow path. Further, sacrificial components are included in the valve to reduce the effects of wear. Furthermore, wear of the sacrificial components can be determined without having to disassemble the valve.

    Abstract: Batch mode supply of feedstock in non-combustive gasification systems and methods are described. In accordance with an aspect, a feedstock material is injected into a vessel at atmospheric pressure, atmosphere from the feedstock material in the vessel is purged, the purging includes evacuating the vessel, and in response to the pressure level in the vessel being below a predetermined value, injecting synthesis gas generated in a non-combustive gasification system, the vessel is pressurized to a reference pressure greater than an operating pressure of a gasification chamber, a portion of the feedstock material is supplied to an accumulation chamber, further feedstock material is injected into the gasification chamber, and atmospheric pressure in the collection vessel is recovered.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided facilitating operation of a steam reformation process as part of a syngas production process. A steam reforming coil is placed inside a refractory lined pressure vessel, thereby allowing the pressure inside the pressure vessel to be controlled in accordance with the pressure in the steam reforming coil. By controlling an external pressure a wider range of materials can be employed to construct system apparatus. Further, a partial pressure operation can be conducted, where the chamber pressure is a ratio of the reforming coil pressure. Furthermore, apparatus can operate in a parasitic manner where, for example, produced syngas can be utilized to heat apparatus components and exhaust gas can power a turbine to compress feed air.
