Abstract: To control a display layout of at least display associated with a remote computer, a client computer receives at least one user setting for the display layout of the at least one display associated with the remote computer. The client computer obtains, from the remote computer, information relating to properties of the display layout of the at least one display. The client computer sends information relating to the layout to a remote server for storage at the remote server for later retrieval.

Abstract: A persistent connection may be established between a first and second computing device based on a signal received by the first computing device from the second computing device, where the second computing device is protected by a protective mechanism that blocks unauthorized signals from reaching the second computing device and the signal from the second computing device is allowed by the protective mechanism.
