Abstract: An electrically powered furnace and related methods may include an electrically powered furnace having an output of at least one megawatt with a control system; a furnace housing comprising one or more housing walls at least partially defining an interior volume; a plurality of heating zones within the interior volume; and a plurality of heated tubes extending in the interior volume. A method may include providing the feed to the electrically powered furnace; and algorithmically adjusting the output of the one or more heating elements for each of the plurality of heating zones to heat the feed to a desired temperature while maintaining temperatures of the one or more heating elements within predetermined parameters.

Abstract: Systems and methods to enhance vaporization of a hydrocarbon feed may include an evaporator positioned to receive a hydrocarbon feed and partially evaporate the hydrocarbon feed to provide a gaseous hydrocarbon portion and a liquid hydrocarbon portion. A first mixing unit may be positioned to receive the gaseous hydrocarbon portion and dilution steam and provide a hydrocarbon-steam mixture. A heater may be positioned to receive the hydrocarbon-steam mixture to provide a heated hydrocarbon-steam mixture. A second mixing unit may be positioned to receive the liquid hydrocarbon portion and the heated hydrocarbon-steam mixture STEAM and to evaporate at least a portion of the liquid hydrocarbon portion via energy associated with the heated hydrocarbon-steam mixture to provide one or more of an evaporated hydrocarbon portion or a heated liquid hydrocarbon portion.

Abstract: A system and a method for steam cracking hydrocarbons are disclosed. The system includes a steam cracking system comprising a first steam cracking furnace and a second steam cracking furnace. A hydrocarbon feed stream is fed into a convection section of a first steam cracking furnace. The preheated feed stream is mixed with steam and then separated into a light vapor stream and a heavy stream in a vapor-liquid separation unit. The light vapor stream is further steam cracked in a radiant section of the first steam cracking furnace. The heavy stream is further heated and steam cracked in the second steam cracking furnace.

Abstract: Methods and system for superheating dilution steam for use in a steam cracking furnace and generating electricity are provided. Methods can include combusting fuel in the presence of compressed air to produce a flue gas, wherein the flue gas drives a turbine to produce electricity. Methods can further include superheating the dilution steam with the flue gas, combining the dilution steam with a feed stream including hydrocarbons to produce a mixed feed stream, and steam cracking the mixed feed stream to produce a product stream.
