Abstract: An electronic device according to various embodiments may comprise: at least one wireless communication circuit; a touch screen display; a processor operatively connected to the at least one wireless communication circuit and the touch screen display; and a memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to: receive first information on a first external electronic device and a second external electronic device through the at least one wireless communication circuit; determine a location and/or a direction of the first external electronic device and a location and/or a direction of the second external electronic device at least partly on the basis of a signal acquired through the at least one wireless communication circuit and/or second information received through the at least one wireless communication circuit; provide the touch screen display with a graphical user interface (GUI) indicating the first external electronic device and the second external electronic device, at least partly on the basis of the determined location and/or the determined direction; receive, through the touch screen display, a gesture input for selection of the first external electronic device and the second external electronic device; and transmit, through the wireless communication circuit, third information related to an operation of using the first external electronic device and the second external electronic device. Various embodiments are possible.

Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device, including a housing, a first communication circuit disposed in the housing and configured to support omnidirectional wireless communication, a second communication circuit disposed in the housing and configured to support directional wireless communication using beamforming, a processor disposed in the housing and operatively coupled to the first communication circuit and the second communication circuit, and a memory disposed in the housing and operatively coupled to the processor. The processor may be configured to receive at least one first radio signal through a communication channel from an external device capable of supporting the omnidirectional wireless communication and the directional wireless communication using the first communication circuit, determine a state of the communication channel based on at least part of the at least one first radio signal, and activate the second communication circuit based on at least part of the determined state of the communication channel wherein the second communication circuit is configured to receive a second radio signal from the external device.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the disclosure provide a method and apparatus for performing a content search using a keypad (or a keyboard) in an electronic device. The electronic device according to various embodiments include a display; a wireless communication circuit; a memory; and a processor. The processor may be configured to: display an execution screen of an application; detect a first input for calling a keypad; display the keypad on the execution screen; detect a second input for a smart search while displaying the keypad; request a content search from at least one application of the electronic device; and display a search result searched by the at least one application through the keypad. Other embodiments are possible.
