Abstract: A process for preparing a syngas from a methane comprising gas includes reacting the methane comprising gas with an oxidising gas at an operating temperature in the range of 1150 to 1370° C. by means of non-catalytic partial oxidation. A hot raw syngas mixture having a methane content higher than the methane content in a state of thermodynamic equilibrium at the operating temperature applied is passed through a bed of methane oxidation catalyst for oxidising methane with steam formed in the non-catalytic POX into carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The methane oxidation catalyst has at least one catalytically active metal supported on a refractory oxide support material where soot particles present in the hot raw syngas mixture are retained. The retained soot particles are converted to carbon monoxide. Soot depleted syngas is recovered in a state of thermodynamic equilibrium.

Abstract: The Fischer-Tropsch process can be used for the conversion of hydrocarbonaceous feed stocks into normally liquid and/or solid hydrocarbons (i.e. measured at 0° C., 1 bar). The feed stock (e.g. natural gas, associated gas, coal-bed methane, residual oil fractions, biomass and/or coal) is converted in a first step into a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. This mixture is often referred to as synthesis gas or syngas. The present invention relates to process for preparing a paraffin product from a carbonaceous feedstock and a system for preparing a paraffin product from a carbonaceous feedstock.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for capturing carbon dioxide from a gas stream. The gas stream is contacted with solid adsorbent particles in an adsorption zone. The adsorption zone has at least two beds of fluidized solid adsorbent particles, and the solid adsorbent particles are flowing downwards from bed to bed. The solid adsorbent particles comprise 15 to 75 weight % of organic amine compounds. The gas stream entering the adsorption zone has a dew point which is at least 5° C. below the forward flow temperature of the coolest cooling medium in the adsorption zone. Carbon dioxide enriched solid adsorbent particles are heated, and then regenerated. The desorption zone has at least two beds of fluidized solid adsorbent particles, and the stripping gas is steam. The regenerated particles are cooled and recycled to the adsorption zone.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a process for the preparation of a syngas comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide from a methane comprising gas, which process comprises the steps of: (a) reacting the methane comprising gas with an oxidising gas in an autothermal reformer to obtain a hot raw syngas comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen; (b) cooling the hot raw syngas resulting from step (a) to obtain the syngas, wherein step (b) comprises cooling the hot raw syngas by indirect heat exchange against the methane comprising gas used in step (a) and wherein sulphur is added upstream of cooling step (b). The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of hydrocarbon products in which a feed syngas is prepared in the process as described above followed by a desulphurisation treatment and the desulphurised syngas is subsequently converted into hydrocarbon products in a Fischer-Tropsch process.
