Abstract: Lubricant formulations are provided having a base oil blend, the base oil blend having a first Fischer-Tropsch derived base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of between 2.5 and 3.5 cSt and a second Fischer-Tropsch derived base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of between 3.5 and 4.5 cSt, wherein the resulting base oil blend has a Noack volatility of less than 15%. The first Fischer-Tropsch derived base oil can be present in an amount up to 12 wt. % and the second Fischer-Tropsch derived base oil can be present in an amount up to 88 wt. %.

Abstract: The present invention provides an engine oil composition including 70 to 95 percent by weight of a base oil and 0.01 to 15 percent by weight of a dispersant comb polymer, based on the overall weight of the engine oil composition. The dispersant comb polymer consists of 13.7% by weight of a macromonomer, which is an ester of methacrylic acid and a hydroxylated hydrogenated polybutadiene with Mn of 4750 g/mol; 51.5% by weight of n-butyl methacrylate; 17.3% by weight of LMA; 11.2% by weight of styrene; 0.2% by weight of methyl methacrylate; and 6.10% by weight of N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate. The modified dispersant inhibitor package contains 30 wt % or less of succinimide type dispersant based on the overall weight of the modified dispersant inhibitor additive package, and the engine oil composition has an SAE viscosity grade of 0W-X, wherein X is 30 or less.

Abstract: Lubricating composition for use in the crankcase of an engine comprising: (i) a base oil comprising at least one monoester or a mixture of monoesters, wherein said monoester or mixture of monoesters has a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of not more than 4 mm2/s, a viscosity index of at least 130 and a Noack evaporation loss of not more than 20 wt %; and (ii) a polymeric viscosity index improvers selected from (a) one or more comb polymers; (b) a poly(meth)acrylate polymer having 1 to 70 mol % of one or more (meth)acrylate structural units represented by formula (1) below (1) wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R2 is a straight chain or branched hydrocarbon group having not less than 16 carbon atoms; (c) styrene-diene hydrogenated copolymers; and (d) mixtures thereof. The lubricating composition of the present invention provides improved fuel economy properties.
