    Abstract: A polymerization process is described in which impact resistant methacrylonitrile homopolymers and copolymers are prepared in the presence of a diene rubber by free radical polymerization at improved rates by conducting the polymerization in aqueous emulsion in the presence of some preformed seed polymer having small particle size.
