Abstract: Impact resistant polymers having low permeability to gases and vapors which are useful materials for packaging of perishables are prepared by continuously adding the olefinic nitrile monomer and a vinyl aromatic monomer to a polymerization medium containing a latex of a rubber which is a polymer of a conjugated diene monomer, a vinyl aromatic monomer and an olefinic nitrile monomer.
