Abstract: A shaped beam tube is described wherein the means for shaping the cross section of the beam include a pair of axially spaced electron opaque members, each having a set of apertures therein. Each aperture in one set corresponds to an aperture in the other set for producing a particular desired image. The opaque members are positioned with their corresponding apertures aligned on the path of the electron beam.
