Abstract: A light-emitting element includes: a first electrode including a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer, the first conductive layer being provided with a flat surface serving as an upper surface and reflecting visible light, and the second conductive layer being provided on the flat surface, transmitting the visible light, and including a first region having a first thickness, a second region positioned around the first region and having a second thickness thicker than the first thickness, and a third region positioned around the second region and having a third thickness thicker than the second thickness; a functional layer including at least a light-emitting layer and formed on the second conductive layer in conformity with a shape of the second conductive layer, and a second electrode formed on the functional layer and transmitting the visible light; and an edge cover containing at least one of a scattering material to scatter the visible light or a light-blocking material to block the visible light, covering at least a portion of an end portion of the first electrode, and formed higher than the second electrode.
